NOW... much smarter than NWO (Last Update: 10th December 2012)
"The definition of insanityHi. Welcome to NOW.
is doing the same thing over and over again
and expecting different results."
is doing the same thing over and over again
and expecting different results."
The game is rigged and none of us get out alive. Everybody busy scrambling for as much of the pot as they can get. Some by "fair" means, some by "foul" means and some by "legally foul" means that play by rules written by themselves. That may seem a little harsh, but that's essentially how the world works. Top down or bottom up it really doesn't matter. The great god of business is no more than a distraction from what needs to be done. Cryptic eh, well let me explain a little further.
Full employment or economic speak "in macroeconomics, is the level of employment rates when there is no cyclical unemployment.". In English "With cyclical unemployment, the number of unemployed workers exceeds the number of job vacancies, so that even if full employment were attained and all open jobs were filled, some workers would still remain unemployed.". So there will never be enough jobs for everyone. What do we do with people who aren't working? Generally we all donate a little money to the tax man and s/he distributes it on our behalf to keep the unemployed alive. That would seem fair. Then again, given that socio-economic studies highlight higher rates of child mortality, poor health, poor education etc... that means we're condemning a portion of our population to either die, be ill more frequently, have less than ideal conditions to learn under. In so many country's the unemployed are derided for being "lazy", no good thieves, who are a major drain on the economy.
It would seem that the great god business has rigged the economy for self-serving purposes. Let's face it, even though some businesses rake in billions in profit, they don't put that back into the economy in the form of jobs. Consider for a minute that $1 billion could pay 10,000 people $100,000 per year or 20,000 people $50,000 per year. Now consider the billionaires and their fortunes. They spend several million on yachts, several million on paintings, several million on house etc... it's not really going back into the economy, but into businesses. Sure businesses pay tax, but they still have to make some form of profit and that only gets worse where shareholders are concerned. Now I'm not being anti-business, more trying to highlight that where money is concerned, efficiency and maximisation of profit are the main drivers. This is why in recession that jobs are cut, to keep the margins up. This is the way of the world it seems. But we still have the question of why these billions don't create more jobs. Suffering by the billions to make thousands billions is one way of looking at it.
For that it's a trip back to economics land. It turns out that if you want to have full employment, then you're going to end up with hyperinflation or "hyperinflation occurs when a country experiences very high, accelerating, and perceptibly "unstoppable" rates of inflation. In such a condition, the general price level within an economy rapidly increases as the currency quickly loses real value.". Well ok then, there we have it. No full employment because the value of money rapidly diminishes as prices rise. No good for anyone.
With the above in mind. Can anyone explain to me why the unemployed are treated with utter contempt and why they are paid less than the minimum wage? After all they're doing those who have money a favour by keeping their money worth what it is. Why is it that they have to live in the damp, poorly maintained houses that are bad for their health and create "ghettos"? After all, they're paying rent to the exact same people that they're doing the favour for i.e. keeping their money worth what it is.
An irony of note perhaps: If you pay peanuts you get monkeys ad infinitum. I hear these lines, and similar, trotted out when the subject of remuneration for workers crops up. Why is the same logic not applied to society as a whole? After all, if you're going to pay peanuts and drive people to the brink of doing whatever it takes to improve the lot of their nearest and dearest, theft, murder, drug abuse, thuggery, organised crime etc... then there's a certain irony when the very same people pointing the finger start to moan and whine about the state of the nation. Basically, WE get the society that WE pay for.
Can businesses work? Absolutely, they're essential to our survival, they can benefit everyone, but not using a financially economic model. Try a NOW model and watch the issues all but evaporate.
So the next time someone starts whittering on about how much of a drain the unemployed are on the economy. Tell them that the unemployed are absolutely necessary for the economy and that they should show a little more respect. Hell, tell them to give them a pay rise and perhaps they won't commit as much crime. Remember, we get the society that we pay for, or at least is paid for on our behalf. Business first, people last does not work.
A "Begging" Letter.
Everything takes money. Raising awareness is no different. To that end, if you have excess funds and you would like to invest in a project with the potential to change the world, then come and say hi.
The above may sound like madness or the ramblings of a person suffering from delusions of grandeur, but I assure you that I am quite serious. Someone has to be about the future. I have a plan. It may not be a good plan, but that is for you to decide. Come to my house, drink wine and let me offer you a vision and a plan of how we get there. You will be an integral part of NOW helping to shape our future. If nothing else, you will have had a wasted journey and I will have less wine.
Change happening by itself is too slow. It needs a helping hand.
We do not need to be stuck with Einstein's theory of insanity! There is a Silver Bullet! and it is EASY to change our society quickly and with next to no consequences, in fact the positives by far outweigh the negatives!
A wee challenge for you. Can you think of a single reason why our financial system is better than a NOW approach for humanity. Be honest and open minded, but I think you'll find out that there isn't. NOW (or variations of) is/are required NOW more than ever. We live in a finite world, why continue to waste it?
"There is no Silver Bullet". I've heard that from professionals, experts, leaders etc... NOW they're either really really wrong or they're lying through their teeth. Again, take a look around you and ask if this is the best we can do?
I disagree with those professionals, experts and leaders who say that there is no silver Bullet and I'll make 3 very bold statements that would have them laughing in the aisles:
- There is a Silver Bullet!
- It is EASY to solve many of the major issues that the world faces!
- NOW offers positives that our current societal and economic models can't even come close to offering!
With the above 3 very bold statements in mind, I give you NOW
